Gugulethu is a black township in greater Cape Town. The project is the initiative of the Cape Town Child Welfare Organisation. Kidzpositive is a partner in this project with the Rotary Club of Cape Town in a fund raising drive for orphan care. This project concentrates on the daily need of HIV orphans and provides school fees, uniforms and food to families that are fostering AIDS orphans.

The Thembalabantwana centre has a soup kitchen, a bakery where women come to bake muffins and cakes they then sell on the street, a market garden training scheme, a crèche and a group of volunteer aid workers. They are planning a beadwork unit that will become part of the Positive Beadwork project. Kidzpositive is assisting this enterprise by helping to raise funds in partnership with the Rotary Club of Cape Town.
