The non-profit organization KIDZ BEADZ is an exceptional and unique extension of the Kidzpositive Beadwork project. It was initiated in August 2006 and is situated at the TC Newman Hospital. This facilitated selfhelp project intends to provide a small income for parents and caregivers of children undergoing treatment for AIDS. More than 80% of the sale price of beadwork items goes directly to the affected families and enables them to attend to their ill child. Thereby, the beadwork has not only become a source of income, but an opportunity to meet friends and get support. Additionally, the ability to be self-reliant has made parents more confident and independent. Hope keeps the parents and caregivers going and brings happiness into the lives of the sick. Still there remains a lot to achieve. Support and training needs to be expanded and KIDZ BEADZ also aims to extend the range of beadwork items. No doubt these objectives will be reached with the combined work and positive vision of all participants.

Ndebele cards
