A Time of Celebration

Last year we celebrated 5 years of Positive Beadwork. We owe a huge debt to our customers who have supported us loyally over these years and without whom we would never have reached this milestone. We thank them for their support through orders for beadwork. The value of our sales in 2007 exceeded R800 000. This has enabled over 100 families affected by HIV/AIDS to enjoy the security of a regular income averaging around R140 per week. In each of those families there is a mother/caregiver who makes time each week to complete her beadwork despite sometimes battling with her own ill health and that of her children. The success of the project in reaching this milestone is a tribute to the dedication of these mothers. This was celebrated with an outing for the mothers where they could be together away from the clinic, away from the beads and even away from the children (mothers need time out!). One of the mothers' who was among the first to benefit from the establishment of Kidzpositive Family Fund and whose child was given 'life' by access to ARVs has shared her story. We also shout a BIG THANK YOU to all our schools internationally for their support through the years. In addition to the wonderful support and loyalty from 'Round Square' schools we also appreciate the significant support from United World Colleges as well as the efforts of individual schools. Each order is spearheaded by a committed and enthusiastic teacher or learner. In 2007 sales from schools contributed over 25% of the total income from sales and it is this combined effort by so many people that enables us to provide steady income to the mothers for their families. Ndebele cards

Our new product 'Ndebele cards' feature beautiful ethnic designs on beaded squares with a pin attached so you are buying more than just a card and your purchase is supporting a family affected by HIV/AIDS.
