2005
We are fortunate to enjoy support from many individual benefactors, who live all over the world. They generate funds for our families in many interesting ways.

At one end of the spectrum - and on our side of the world - a little girl aged 8 and in Grade 2 collected over R 800 last year by making beadwork bookmarks of her own design. She began by selling them in the school library. The project caught the eye of a teacher who had a friend who was soon to be married and looking for small gifts to hand out to guests at her wedding. Very soon our eight year-old had 120 bookmarks to complete. Friends and family rallied around and they made their deadline. At the other end of the age spectrum, and on the other side of the world, namely Gabriola Island off the Canadian West Coast, an indomitable lady aged 97, organized a fundraising concert in June 2005, in aid of Kidzpositive and our projects. She generated over 1,500 Canadian Dollars and gained the respect and admiration of many far younger people. Lorna Pentz remains active and involved at 97.These two people have something in common. Lorna Pentz was a pupil at St Cyprian's School, Cape Town between 1915 and 1920. The eight year-old - who wishes to remain anonymous - has just completed Grade 3 at the same school. Eighty years on, at the same school, the same values endure.
